Longtime regular customers may not spot subtle upgrades, only noting one thought:

This year’s version fits exceptionally well.

This Henley T-shirt looks nearly identical to its predecessor, yet refined craftsmanship hides in every detail.

Neckline stitching is streamlined to cut excess bulk for a crisp finish.

Shoulder seams adopt hidden feather stitching with concealed fine stitches; its premium quality reveals itself only when worn and touched.

Body measurements are subtly tailored for modern body shapes instead of blindly following the oversized trend.

Great improvements are always understated and seamless.

Eight Traditional Japanese Hues | Heritage-Dyed Craft

  1. Umezome · Ochre Brown

Made by an ancient Kaga craft simmering red plum bark. A warm earth tone between crimson and ebony, akin to aged beech pillars in Kanazawa tea houses that mature into gentle warmth over time.

  2. Nurebairo · Black

Not flat solid black. Like crow plumage shimmering with indigo-violet iridescence under light, reminiscent of raw silk hakama from Kyoto’s historic Kuroda costume boutique with faint patterns shifting with movement.

  3. Geppaku · Off-White

An ethereal pale milky white favored in the Nara Period, tinted after pale moonlight—silvery white brightening as the moon climbs the sky.

  4. Kuri-iro · Charcoal Grey

An antique brownish-grey dyed with riverbed mud in the Heian Period, famously worn by Suetsumuhana in The Tale of Genji, bearing muted rustic elegance.

  5. Kokon · Navy Blue

Peak indigo-dye craftsmanship requiring 28 repeated dips. Subtle crimson undertones surface under sunlight, echoing British naval uniforms docked at Meiji-era Yokohama Port.

  6. Fukaki Suō · Maroon

A deep muted crimson darker than regular sappanwood red, the exclusive noble hue once reserved for imperial princes as seen on the Shōsōin’s antique carved red ivory ruler relic.

  7. Mushiao · Deep Emerald Green

Named after iridescent jewel beetle wing sheen, also called Summer Bug Green. Matches the lustrous inlay finish of Horyu-ji’s sacred Tamamushi Shrine preserved over a millennium.

  8. Yurushi-iro · Light Pink

The sole permitted pale blush shade in ancient red dye regulations. A luxury dye needing one jin of safflower for a single bolt of silk, resulting in restrained soft rose.
