In ancient texts, the Qilin is often described as having
"a dragon's head, a horse's body, scales, and two horns,
able to breathe fire, with a voice like thunder."
It is not only the foremost of the four auspicious beasts and a symbol of good fortune,
but also considered to ward off evil and subdue malevolence.
This design specially features hooves in a leaping horse-like posture,
dynamic and full of spirit, arriving with a flourish,
symbolizing galloping freely and bringing good luck.

Hidden details at the collar,
featuring a specially integrated blue hue,
embroidered with a pair of dragon horns.
This is inspired by the saying that the Yinglong (a divine dragon) gives birth to the Jianma (a mythical horse), and the Jianma gives birth to the Qilin,
not only subtly hinting at the connection between the Qilin and the horse,
but also embodying the spirit of the dragon-horse (vigour and vitality).

A deep, twilight-like blue,
with the Qilin treading on flames.
The thirteen-color embroidery threads on the front chest underwent over 33,000 passes,
though labor-intensive and time-consuming, the result is three-dimensional and exquisite,
creating an instantly eye-catching texture.
The luster of the silk threads perfectly blends with the suede fabric,
the dense pile of the suede is luxurious yet understated,
balancing the dazzling brilliance of the front chest embroidery.

The inner lining of the garment features a traditional deep blue patterned fabric,
with a slight sheen, revealing ancient patterns.
The pattern carries a subtle brushstroke feel of old silk scrolls,
depicting chrysanthemums and water ripples,
as if an antique has been re-created within this modern jacket.
